Welcome to the Sony Ericsson Apptitude Lab. This is our test facility where we poke and prod apps from Android™ Market. We’re looking for apps with attitude. Apps that are bold enough to fight for a key slot in your daily life. Apps that are too special to just use once and then toss into your phone’s app graveyard. We test the apps that are ballsy enough to tell it like it is. Ones that say, “Hello, Xperia™ handset user, sure, I’m useful, but I can also make you famous. I can help you create or do something that no one’s seen before.”
For Phase One of the Apptitude Lab, we’re testing photography and location-based apps. We’re looking for apps that bring out the best in both you and our handsets.
APPtitude Lab
So our Apptitude Testers have been experimenting with photography apps for a few weeks now. What’s next?
Location-based apps. So what’s all the fuss about Foursquare and Facebook places? Do people really want
to “check-in” and become the mayor of their local nail salon? Maybe not, but these apps have only scratched
the surface of what’s possible.
What if, with a bit of cleverness, we could subvert Foursquare a bit and
make it more fun? What if we could turn these location-based services into something a bit more useful?
These are some of the questions we’ll be using as we raid Android Market and test out all the apps in this category.
